Isoko South Marks 2025 World Tuberculosis Day with Road Walk and Public Health Awareness Campaign

In commemoration of World Tuberculosis Day 2025, the Isoko South Local Government Area, under the leadership of Hon. Comrade Warri Ovoke Friday, held a vibrant Road Walk Awareness Campaign in Oleh, the administrative headquarters of the LGA.

The event, held from March 23rd to 25th, was part of a larger initiative tagged “#WarriForYourHealthWorries,” aimed at sensitizing residents on the dangers of tuberculosis (TB), the importance of early testing, and the availability of free treatment options for affected individuals.

The road walk, which drew the attention of community members and passersby, was a bold call to action against TB, a preventable and curable disease that still poses a significant public health threat in Nigeria.

Joining the Council Chairman on the awareness walk were:

  • Hon. Comrade Zino Osuofa, Secretary to the Local Government

  • Supervisory Councillors

  • Heads of Departments (HODs)

  • Members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in the LGA

The Isoko South Council reiterated its continued dedication to building a healthier community through education, access to healthcare, and partnerships with public health agencies.
